Guys night out
”..wow this place is amazing..I’m gonna have to come here sometime And do a little looking around this town. Never knew it existed..” he mumbled to himself as he would stare at the scenery as they ran by, but making sure to keep an eye out for any of those bandits they encountered earlier.
He was gonna say they should keep going to see what they could fined, but he knew that that could be asking for trouble if there was any artifacts that were guarded by booby traps around here. It was a lost city after all! He just complied as they went into the pipe as it sucked them upwards as they can right out on the surface. “Wow..hey loops, what was that town down there anyway? Know anything about it?”
"My friends Goombella and Professor Frankly explore this place all the time, ‘cause of how much history there is down here," said Koops as he approached the pipe to the surface.
As for Koops himself, well, he was done with Rogueport Underground following their adventure, for the most part, beyond as a simple shortcut from point A to point B. He wasn’t an archaeologist nor was he studying to be one, so the potentially dangerous ancient structures didn’t interest him.
Lighty’s next statement caught his attention just as he was about to step through. “Hmm? Oh… Um, I don’t really know much. Just that there was a capital city of some happy and prosperous empire here, but then a mighty demon made the sky dark, shook the earth, and sank the town into the ground. We…kinda had to fight that demon after some crazy cult resurrected her…”
How is old Koopley doing, sir?
"The old man?"
"Ha, as if a few gray hairs could slow that guy down. He may be 67 on the outside, but I swear he’s 37 on the inside; old pop never stops moving. Always out somewhere getting involved with some sort of activity.
"Whenever he’s not out doing whatever, he’s usually back home helping Mom around the house or hanging out with his old high school and college buddies and catching up on old times. Apparently a friend of his from his college soccer team got picked up by a professional team, and they’re playing for the Flower Cup in a few months… And it sounds like Dad’s old high school sweetheart got himself a nice husband since their breakup and adopted a few; been overhearing about the grandkids…"

"Well ok then. All we gotta do is keep walking while avoiding any hoodlums and we should be fine, piece of cake right?" If only the yoshi hadn’t spoke so soon! Thankfully the yoshi really didn’t have a wallet in his normal pocket, but jnfortanetly loops did have his wallet there.
He was already going ahead but he stopped and turned around when loops suddenly stopped talking as he knew something was up. He could even smell it in the air. “Hey you thief!” He yelled out as he grabbed the hoodlum that currently had loops wallet as he grabbed it back and ate the bandet as he laid an egg. He then proceeded to throw it at the other bandit next to koops as he grabbed the koopas hand and picked him up in his RMS dashing away. “Yeah we gotta go, my noise tells me there’s a lot more allover this place!”
"Yeah, good idea…"
Koops took Lighty’s hand, guiding him through the ruins at a somewhat quicker pace. The giant cave was full of a network of ruined houses and other structures, indicating a once rich and prosperous civilization, but the pair kept to the main road going west.
They soon reached some sort of square overlooking the expansive canyon north of them. There was a pipe leading further underground and another several feet from it pointed up towards the surface. West of that was another town wall, leading to another part of the old town obviously, but Koops took Lighty in the direction of the pipe going up.

Lighty nodded as he jumped up and jumped right into the pipe after his close friend. It was very fun as the pipe would just take him away as presented in “super Mario 3d worlds” clear pies. He soon plopped out and landed next to loops afterward as he looked at the scenery “wow. I really havn’t been underground but this amazing.” He cooed
He looked down at the water and the platforms “parahnas huh? I’d worry more about you then me. Good thing I had some jumping and agility training with my sister earlier.” He said as he was taking steps back. After he was far enough he ran toward the edge and jumped off as he landed on the platform, jumping from one to another with quickness as he made it to the top with a flip as he bowed “ah there we go. Your turn koops!”
In contrast to Lighty, Koops just waited for the platforms to float close enough and hopped across a mere half-foot gap for each jump.
"The pipe to the town where Podley’s Place is is due west from here," he said, walking ahead through the arched doorway in the town wall. "We just need to get through the old ruins of an ancient empire’s capital city to get there. As long as we don’t run into any hoodlums along the way, we should…"
Without warning, he suddenly snatched a hand from his pocket that wasn’t his own. The bandit yelped, making a ruckus as he tried to pull away.
"H-Hey, let go! Let go!"
Koops just glared at him as he kept making a scene. “Nice try, but I didn’t hatch yesterday.”
What Koops didn’t realize was that the bandit he caught was a diversion. Another managed to sneak up from his other side and managed to slip out the koopa’s wallet while said koopa was too distracted to notice…

Lighty nodded in complete agreement as he made sure to stay next to koops as he followed, keeping a close eye out for anything as the koopa had said to stay on guard. “Hey koops. Why did you say to stay on guard? Nothing seems to be wrong around here, looks like just an average shortcut to me.” He said as he could’nt sense any danger near them anywhere. And usually he would with his keen smell alone.
"Y’know koops this town is very nice. We should have more days like this here we just hang out. I’ve been having a pretty good time y’know. What about you koops? You’ve been having a good time two?" He hoped he was, and he was sure that he was, he seemed to be having fun.
"Eheheh… We haven’t quite reached the shady part yet…"
As he came to a halt at the pipe ahead, surrounded by a small patch of trees, Koops heard Lighty talking behind him and smiled. “Yeah… It’s been a great evening.” His voice had a soft, fond tone.
But now wasn’t a time for reflection; they still had to get to Rogueport. Koops climbed on top of the pipe and hopped in, allowing it to ‘warp’ him to a large chamber underground. He stepped off, waiting for the yoshi to follow.
The area around them was flooded with sea water; the pipe they emerged from was on a stone island in the middle of it. Above them was a cave ceiling, and north of them was a vast underground canyon separating them from the ruins of an ancient city.
To the west was a town wall enclosing the chamber, and a pair of large floating platforms appeared to be chained to the pool bed below in a manner that made them swing back and forth between the two stone grounds and each other.
Koops waited for the closest platform to float right up next to the island before hopping aboard. “Watch your step; there’s piranhas in that water,” he said matter-of-factly.

The last time lighty ate was hours ago early in the day to be exact. Now that he thought about it, he might have accidently skipped his dinner, and he usually doesn’t do that! But that would certainly explain the mumbles and rumbles that his stomach had been giving since the movie, And still is now. His belly rumbled in response before he could even let a word slip out of his mouth to answer he koopa directly as he scratched the back of his neck.
"Ehehe." He laughed sheepishly "well I guess a nice little thing to eat would be good! My stomach certainly agrees with ya! He he! Just lead the way and I’ll follow koops!" He said as he nodded.
The rumbly of the yoshi’s tumbly told Koops he’d just said the magic words. To Podley’s Place it was then.
"Oh, I know a shortcut," he said, adding cautiously, "…but, umm…it’s kinda through some still kinda shady territory, so…you might wanna keep your guard up…"
Now the leader this time, Koops trotted with Lighty behind towards a western field of Petal Meadows. His destination in mind was a warp pipe a several-minute walk west of Petalburg’s gates and almost directly south of a certain infamous castle across the canyon. The same pipe he left home with Mario and Goombella through to begin his adventure with them.

"Yip! I have to agree with ya that there were parts that were pretty ok. But very dull as the same time, I just hope if they do make a second part that it has a more detailed plot behind it all! That’ll make me extra happy! Then we can watch it like we watched this one!" He cheered
As they walked out it was a nice and starry night as there were very few residents that were out at this hour. Lighty smiled as he feel the wind rubbing and brushing softly against his soft light blue and white scales. “Ah yep. What a nice night it is.” He declared standing tall “so koops its your turn to pick. Watcha wanna do?”
Koops thought long and hard about possible fun activities for the two of them. Most of the time, his mind wandered to the far-off places he and his ‘fellowship’ companions traveled to during their adventure, but most of those places were a bit too out of the way. And the ones close enough were either too expensive or didn’t exactly cater any sort of goods or entertainment at this time of night…
"Oh!" He snapped his fingers. "I do know this great soda bar in Rogueport Square," he said. "I had a pretty light dinner before we left, so having a small bite to eat now before anything else would be rather nice…"

"Well I’m glad I wasn’t boring you. That’s the last thing I want to do!" He said still a little timid. But the part about him made him even more timid as he cheeks showed it in a very light tone "he he! Thanks koops, you usually know what to say." Lighty looked at the time and gasped.
”Wow! Look at the time! We better get going or we might miss the beginning of the movie!” He said as he did what he had earlier. Grabbing the koopas hand so he would follow closely behind as he gave the tickets to the main person as he asked “where’s the room for the “. ” movie?” At this they answered him as he nodded and went ahead with loops to the program. Thankfully they had made it in time as the program was beggining.
After the movie lighty was filled with excitement as they came out of theater “boy that was a good movie! I hope they make a sequel! What do you think koops?”
Koops chuckled; Lighty was as lively as always, and the tone of the movie obviously wouldn’t have done anything to damper that.
"Well, I thought it was pretty good," he said. "Pretty suspenseful a lot of times, but…it got kinda cheesy here and there…y-y’know, like they were trying to hard." He shrugged, surmising, "But other than that, I think it more or less lived up to its hype…"
As the pair neared the exit, Koops took another moment to think things through. Lighty had given him the reigns for the next part of their night out, so…what did he want to do next?
Guys night out
"Boring me? How would you be boring me? Nothing really bores me, it’s not easy for me to get bored, in fact i think what you do is really interesting and..well you! Just being yourself is interesting hehe!" The yoshi giggles a bit. He knows koops can be kinda shy and timid, in fact lighty can be around certain people as well, but with koops, he’s more open.
"So koops, after this how about we go somewhere you wanna go? That way its even and we each have a turn to pick where to go instead of just me picking. I mean where’s the fun in that hehe!"" Lighty kept babbling on and on as he forgot to hold his tongue as sometimes he can go a little overboard and be super talkative.
Soon it was they’re turn to go in as he was talking for such a long period “..oh..I’m sorry i talked so much, I’m probably giving you an earshore..” He smiled sheepishly rubbing his neck.
Koops smiled and shook his head. “Oh, no, it’s fine; I kinda like listening to others talk,” he assured his friend. “…Partially ‘cause…well, I don’t have to talk as much then…b-but usually ‘cause they have some interesting stuff to say…” Smiling thoughtfully at Lighty, he added, “Like you.”
Koops tended to be a bit reserved and hesitant in most person-to-person interactions unless it was with at least one of the relative few Koops felt comfortable around, and Lighty had been strongly becoming one of them the past several months. Between shared moral values, events spent together, and similar relations, the yoshi and koopa had grown to be quite good friends.
In any case, the feature presentation would be starting in just a few minutes, so it was probably best that neither did any talking and just found the room where the film was being viewed.
